Kinesiology, or human kinetics, is the scientific study of how humans move. It can relate to sports and exercise, or it can get into physical therapy, rehabilitation, and even the subtle movements of the heart and lungs when we breathe. As the science of kinesiology gets deeper it is no surprise it begins to uncover the ancient and esoteric teachings of the past for itself. It appears on one level it is beginning to understand human movement is related to mind and spirit. See the connection with Qigong? Practicing qigong exercises fuses all of these – mind, body, and spirit. Concentrating on all these aspects go hand in hand and it is important to not become overly excessive on just one. Often when students begin practicing qigong they become too wound up in the physical and formal aspects of movement. This is important, yes your feet need to be shoulder width apart to ground with Zhang Zhuang Qigong, but there is an important mental aspect as well. This is why you see so many meditation tips and references on Develop Your Energy.
Kinesiology is not far off when it comes to the mental and Andrew Kemp (Kinesiology site) at Quantum K (Guided meditation) in the United Kingdom is not far off. In its essence Kemp believes the body/mind healing process is an equation where both are variables in the equation. See the connection with Traditional Chinese Medicine? According to Kemp –
- Healing should be simple.
- Healing can be delivered through the focused intent of therapist or patient.
- The Universe, including the human body, obeys the laws of fractal geometry and the correct equation can be re-run to correct imbalances in mind and body.
- Numbers are understood by our bodies as concepts and 12 digit sequences can talk straight to our DNA to provide healing.
Kemp’s site Quantum K addresses this phenomena and explains how numbers and fractal geometry are a part of this body/mind equation. If this sounds far out there and a bit of hocus pocus Kemp has created a practice and method to try for yourself as an individual. Again, this relates to the role of technology in our practices and how it can advance us.
Quantum K is really a method to defragment your mind/body hard drive and get rid of the messy bits which have muddied the fractal dimensions in your mind and body.
From the Quantum K website –
The primary ‘code’ used here is based on numbers and fractal geometry. The 12 number sequences communicate directly with our DNA, stimulating these basic building blocks of life to let go of negative programs and rebuild in line with a more positive set of instructions.
The fractal equations provide the blueprint for our DNA to follow. Fractals define the structure of all living things – cells, plants, mountains and planets. They are particularly applicable to the structure and proportions of the human body.
This combination of intent, harmonics and fractal equations provides both the instructions to make positive change and the means to do so.
To explain simply, Quantum K is a 23 minute guided meditation. You find a quiet place to sit and play the music along with viewing visuals of geometric sequences and various, somewhat intense, thought affirmations floating across the screen. These go way beyond thought affirmations like “I am a good person who is lovable and capable”. These are thought affirmations to correct the biological makeup of your cells, the way you breathe, and negative vibrations you have absorbed from people and things in this lifetime and those before. The first time is very exciting, it really opens you up to the way your mind and body works with one another. It is also worthwhile to come back often to defragment as all complex organisms need to.
As a suggestion practice the Qigong exercises in our Qigong 101 course followed by a meditation from Quantum K.
